    Any supercharged E30s out there?

I'm considering forced induction and am leaning toward a supercharger. I've never been a huge fan of turbo lag, and I don't want to deal with all the intercooler piping involved. I've seen supercharger 'kits' for the E36 but they specifically say that the kit won't fit an E30. I'm not too worried about making a bracket, and since I'm not running PS or AC I have plenty of room for it.

Could you post a link? I tried several different searches and couldn't find anything.

The kit that's out there seems to be a matter of serpentine belt conversion and mounting. Can't imagine what else you'd really need to do considering the two engines.

However, DASC prices (generally without the tune) are about the same as a JakeB turbo kit. If you went with the latter it's a small turbo/moderate boost you won't be too laggy.

So far they've only tested RHD cars, I don't think anybody knows if they'll fit the LHD setup yet. There's a lot more on the intake side of the engine bay in a LHD car. I also have a swapped E21 so my engine bay is even smaller than the E30. It sounds like I'm just going to have to go custom if I want a supercharger.

I've considered turbo and haven't fully decided on the supercharger yet. If I did go the turbo route it would be with JakeB's kit, but I think the SC is going to end up being the better option for me.

Another thing about the supercharger kit is that it uses a roots type blower. I'm looking into using a centrifugal style which should be easier to fabricate. One requires making a new intake manifold while the other just needs a simple bracket.

              Here you go bud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOv8pz33Lj0

Just takes a custom bracket, some urethane couplers n stuff. Notice the stock afm!

I don´t know this is going to work properly
because now you´re infuencing your own system
better place that AFM before the blower imo...

Centrifugal superchargers are laggy. Building an intake manifold was not that bad. There a good amount of information in my build here on r3v.

If you're going centrifugal you may as well go with a small turbo like a T3 or GT25. You don't get the instantaneous, linear response of a positive displacement supercharger with a centrifugal unit. There is no "lag" with a centrifugal supercharger but it doesn't build boost down low, much like a turbo.

I inquired a couple months back, they have had success fitting the supercharger to LHD M42's.
