boy am i steamy

So last week I put my car into the shop cuz the gauges died and it was blowing fuses left and right. So the guy promised to have the car out no later than 2 days. I called on the second day and it's not finished, he promises that it should be done by thursday at 1 pm. True to his word the car is finished and so i overlook it being late a day because I was so tired of running around in my dad's del sol. So last night i go to fill her up and start pumping my gas. I look over at my car, and there's SCRATCHES ALL OVER MY ROOF! I thought it was just some dirt or something so i try to rub it out, BUT ITS SCRATCHES IN THE PAINT! It looks like some fucker at the shop put a toolbox on the roof of my car and scraped it accross. I'm so pissed because i've had my car for over a year now and they had it for three days and caused more damage to it than i ever did. SEcond, I did not expect this out of a shop, it wasn't even my idea to go to this shop, my father insisted on this shop where as i insisted on an e30 specialist. Third, they didn't tell me about it, I'm sure they knew but waited for me to find out in the first place. Lastly, within 2 months of buying my car, i had the car re-sprayed so the paint is practically still BRAND FUCKING NEW! so guys, what do you think I should do? Should i take legal matters or what?

Most likely they are waiting for you to confront them... they knew what they did. And are seeing if they can get away with it.

yeah im with jordan...if you go in there like a hard case, they will most likely tell u where to go....be smrt and professional about it....but still be firm.

I am going to go with the "Keep a cool head" prnciple. Go in and speak with the manager in a very nice manor. Don't play hard ball until after he denies it. The worst thing you can threaten an auto place with in CA is to report them to the department of consumer affairs, auto repar bureau. The state of CA has a dim view of auto shops playing games.
