m20 with Getrag 420g?

    m20 with Getrag 420g?

    There difference is only off by 10° as opposed to the 15° that would have to be twisted if I m50 swapped. Long story short I plan on doing a swap in the future to m6x probably. But I know a junkyard with a s38 as well. But even if I end up with an s/m5x that 420g will still fit all across correct. I realize it's just an overdrive gear with the 420 but I live in a town where people only respect/work on chevy/ford. So I see this tranny a lot for low low prices

    Anyone done this? I think only 4 of the torx bolts line up with an m20 as well. You guys think that's sufficent? (I kinda do)

      The 420g won't bolt up to an m20/m50 block. The bolt pattern is completely difference, among other things.

        The getrag 420 was used in the e36 m3 euro... Why would it then not fix s5x/m5x? Answer me that JGood?

        Just read some info on the m5x to 420g here http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...-%28Sticky-%29. So why not m20? It I went for a 10 degree switch on the sifter linkage and rotated it back when I swapped another motor in?
