    Bought a pig......

Yup, I bought a heavy pig AKA Dodge Challenger RT Classic.
I've been in the market for a used current generation American muscle car for some time now. I've watched tons of videos, read countless articles before test driving the 2011 Mustang 5.0, 2011 Camaro SS and the 2010 Challenger RT. All three cars are great in it's own way. The mustang was the most sporty of the three and of course the quickest. The Camaro was my least favorite of the group for lack of visibility, cheap feeling interior and over all feel. The Challenger was driven last because I honestly felt I would hate the heavy pig of the group. But to my surprise, the Challenger appealed to all my senses better than the other two. The seats and interior is of much better quality. Yes it's heavy and have slower track times than the others but there's something about the bark of the Hemi combined with the timeless look of yesteryear. Another deciding factor was that Dodge hasn't changed the Challenger much since It's introduction. My 2010 Challenger looks newer than a 2015 Mustang and Camaro.
My budget would not allow the SRT8 Challenger. In all honesty I'm more than pleased with 5.7 Hemi.

    Hemi Orange Classic
All leather interior including door panels
    392 LSD
    6 speed manual
    Classic 20" mags
    Classic strip decal

Day two flowmaster install and resonator delete. The sound is utterly amazing.

I agree completely on the Camaro.

I think if I were buying today the 5.0 would get my attention most. I would love an lsx car, but after having a v6 Camaro rental, I would never buy one. The blind spots were ridiculous, and the car just felt cheap.

Congrats on the pickup, any plans?

I'm researching superchargers or cam and tune. I'm thinking the later, superchargers $6500? I don't think so.

I used to install a bunch of Whipple's at a previous job, the hemis always made good power but the same Whipple kit on a Camaro or Mustang would make way more. And they always had problems with the tuning due to Chryslers shitty computers. The Edelbrock kits seemed to work without problems but made way less power. Stay away from Magnuson.

I've always heard the Camaro was the "High School Dropout's Corvette", but there have been insane examples of it over the years. I'm in the pro mustang column.

                Whatever floats your boat.

I'll admit that the exterior styling of the Challenger appeals in some way to me (more than the Camaro, less than the 'stang), but the visibility is completely unacceptable.

I thought this was going to be a story about how OP got married.

The Challenger design really is the best thing to come out of the "muscle car revival" of the past 10 years. I like what Ford is doing with ecoboost stuff, and the Camaro gets cool points for being Australian under the skin with me, but this is the one that inspires that high-school-era "want that" feeling I used to have with old cars carrying the "SS" or "six-pack" or "Shelby" badges.

I think they look good, but always felt it should be 7/8 scale of what it is. I know I could never drive a car that big, I have no depth perception, I'd be ramming (ha! get it!? lol) shit all the time.

These are my current ones, the Mini is for sale but would not cry if it didn't sell.

So true, and they captured that in every way when you drive one. It has that big muscle car feel that sinks you back in the seat with every shift. The suspension is okay but I'm ordering the Eibach pro kit with struts springs and sways.
