    Clutches and flys

My SPEC clutch is pooched and slipping like mad, so I need to re-order but I need to confirm I've got the right setup going on and if not what i need to change to re-order.

With my old setup I had a euro e21 323i 12lb single mass and a stock e30 325i clutch kit. 30,000+ km of use and no slipping, but engaged slow on a hard shift so I decided to upgrade in the name of future proofing for track use when I had it out to rebuild the motor anyways.

New setup is an e30 325i single mass flywheel with the back shaved to clear the bolts on the rear of the block. Clutch is a SPEC stage 1 organic (kit number SB101) for an 86-93 325i/is/ic. Clutch pedal engages way high at almost the very top of the pedal, I suspect it's not fully engaging and putting constant slight pressure on the pressure plate fingers at all times. It is not a bleeding issue.

I'm wondering if I somehow ended up with a clutch kit designed to work with the dual mass flywheel despite my friction disc being a sprung hub design. Maybe the TOB is too long? I did a rough visual comparison during install and the TOB from ears to bearing surface was about 1mm longer than my original but I can't see that being enough to make the difference.
