well no matter what more then likely your gonna have to strip down your motor and put low compression pistons in. Cheap and Easy usually don't come in the same sentence as Turbo when it comes to e30's.

heh, low comp pistons?? NAHH!!! ; ) unless your wanting REALLY SERIOUS power out of the M20...the stock 8.8:1 compression pistons will be fine as long as compression is good and the engine is in good shape.

its costing me about 1600 bucks for my CHEAP kit....turbo...piping..intercooler...fuel system...exhaust manifold...exhaust fabrication...oil sending lines, return lines...oil...and so on...

        Here is a small list:

        1. You will need a manifold adaptor or a new manifold with the flange of the turbo u select.

        2. Some kind of turbocharge, usually used is good for experimental and cost reasons.

        3. Intercooler with all the piping

        4. blow off valve (must have with any turbo setup)

        5. A copper head gasket is usually a good idea..and u can lower CR a little more

        6. Some sort of custom downpipe.

        7. i would suggest a boost controller and gauge but they are optional

        8. U will need some bigger fuel injectors

        9. And since the Bosch system we have doesnt' like boost in any amount u will most likely be looking into some sort of engine management.

That is just a start...u still have to figure in oil to the turbo and back and alot of other little odds and ends. But that is the gist of it. It can be done as said for around 1500-2000 dollars with a used turbo and Pro-Turbo manifold adapter.

Here is a small parts list of my turbo setup, with prices I paid.

          Garrett T04-E turbo - 200
          Oil lines - 60
          Exhaust manifold adapter - 275
          Wastegate adapter/downpipe/installation - 300
          Exhaust system - 610
          32lb/hr injectors - 250
          Megasquirt/wiring - 250
          MSD ignition - 338
          Muffler - 80
          Gauges - 120
          Intercooler - 200
          Charge pipes - 104
          Silicone connectors (2.5") - 25
          New wastegate flanges/gaskets - 30
          Lightened Flywheel - 110
Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch - 330

This does not include engine internals added up to about 2000 or so.

This is a pretty basic price list, and doesnt include little stuff.

how much power u putting to the wheels mat?...im thinking of doing the IE rebuild so if i do it i would replace some parts with those needed in a turbo system

Matt, i have to say that is one of the cleanest e30's i have seen. Not to mention the intercooler lurking in the valence. Congrats.

Turbocharging your e30 will run you at least $1,500 depending how cheap you can get your stuff. Heres what i've got:

                Garett T3 .42 .48 (i sold it and got a T04b .60 .96, i'll sell the rear and put a .58 )
524td manifold, wich i think i'll ditch and make a custom one.
Intercooler from an Eclipse (going to sell it too, i got a bigger IC)
                Paxton FMU
                Sequential HKS BlowOff
                SMT6 piggyback
                Mustang injectors
                Thicker head gasket
                Intake and exhaust manifold gaskets
                Set of gauges and pods
                Greddy full auto timer
Blitz Dual SBC electronic boost controller
Oil feed and oil return lines and fittings
                Fuel and vacuum hoses
