heh, low comp pistons?? NAHH!!! ; ) unless your wanting REALLY SERIOUS power out of the M20...the stock 8.8:1 compression pistons will be fine as long as compression is good and the engine is in good shape.
its costing me about 1600 bucks for my CHEAP kit....turbo...piping..intercooler...fuel system...exhaust manifold...exhaust fabrication...oil sending lines, return lines...oil...and so on...

Here is a small list:
1. You will need a manifold adaptor or a new manifold with the flange of the turbo u select.
2. Some kind of turbocharge, usually used is good for experimental and cost reasons.
3. Intercooler with all the piping
4. blow off valve (must have with any turbo setup)
5. A copper head gasket is usually a good idea..and u can lower CR a little more
6. Some sort of custom downpipe.
7. i would suggest a boost controller and gauge but they are optional
8. U will need some bigger fuel injectors
9. And since the Bosch system we have doesnt' like boost in any amount u will most likely be looking into some sort of engine management.
That is just a start...u still have to figure in oil to the turbo and back and alot of other little odds and ends. But that is the gist of it. It can be done as said for around 1500-2000 dollars with a used turbo and Pro-Turbo manifold adapter.

Turbocharging your e30 will run you at least $1,500 depending how cheap you can get your stuff. Heres what i've got:

Paxton FMU
Sequential HKS BlowOff
SMT6 piggyback
Mustang injectors
Thicker head gasket
Intake and exhaust manifold gaskets
Set of gauges and pods
Greddy full auto timer
