Introduction & Question on C405 Door Connectors

    Hi everyone!

I'm a long time lurker, and have been on the forums before, but got out of the e30 scene a long time ago. A few months back I caught the e30 bug again and started looking around. About 3 weeks ago I found a black 1990 325is and went for it due to the price and rust (lack of). It still does need a lot of work, mostly because I think it sat around for a lot of its' life (odo stopped at 37k and hasn't been fixed since 1996) and the last owner was not an e30 enthusiast.

The most annoying issues with the car are electrical. I found that the C405 door connector had green rot and power mirrors didn't work. I started looking for the pins and sockets to repair it and was shocked to find out that the price for a single socket was no less than $4/ea (pins are less than $0.50).

You can get a whole used connector but that's still 20 year old parts.

So I looked far and wide and was able to find a supplier of the sockets that offered a better price (less than a $1) but with a 4 month lead time. So my question to the forum is, would there be interest in the sockets or an overhaul kit? I guess it could be like a group buy or I was going to order them in a large quantity and just start selling them (maybe a kit too) on forums and ebay.

Would anyone be interested in C405 (door connector) sockets and/or kits for cheaper than OEM prices?
