E28/E34 5 Lug Swap Possible?

So I've got an E28 with E34 M5 brakes and I'm looking to pick up an E30.

I'm curious if it's possible to swap the E28 5-lug over to the E30 (and in turn, the brakes).

not without fabricating custom lower strut sections

a guy tried to do it years ago and then gave up i think

haven't heard of it being successfully done
