    Calling Suabru gurus

Last fall I swapped the heads on a good block for my GFs 2000 Impreza with the EJ2.2, before I did the work I double checked the engine and it would crank, had fuel but would not fire. Thought nothing of it and dug into the rebuild. After I flew back to NY her father hooked everything up but would not fire. I have since moved to Colorado and I tackled the non start issue since she has a beater car for now. It is still not getting spark and I have swapped the cam angle sensor and the CPS and still no spark. The last thing on the list is a coilpack, plug wires(spark plugs are new and gapped to spec) and maybe the harness or ecu. I know the engine ran before the bearing spun so in theory it would fire right up...she did say it sat for a bit while sourcing a replacement engine and then it stopped firing up. The replacement ended up having bad heads...so I took the good block and put the good heads on it and yes, the timing is perfect. It is also getting fuel and has a new battery.

The Subaru forums don't respond and I'm hoping someone has experience with them and might know of something I'm overlooking.

I would be looking at the coil resistance, then what ever they use to trigger the coil, ignition module :idontknow: then double check and make sure you have all the chassis grounds hooked up (I seem to remember from somewhere scoobies are picky about grounding points)

I see your problem, you're trying to diagnose an issue with a Suabru GC chassis, it's no wonder the Subaru guys couldn't help. Did you post on NASIOC? Last I heard they were the most helpful forum in the history of forums.

I've never had one, but from helping my brother with his I recall that getting timing correct on the EJ22 is something many people do wrong somehow, and there are differences between quite a few parts on phase 1/2 engines, especially in timing components.

Beyond that I'd check the coil pack resistance at the very least, then look at grounds, the ignitor (if that one has one) and then at the ECU/wiring.
