How to prevent roof rack theft?

As the title says, how do you prevent roof rack theft? Recently purchased a simple thule roof rack for my e30. It only has an adjustable knob to tighten and loosen the rack onto the pillars. That's it. Anyone have any ideas as to prevent unwanted low lives from stealing my roof rack? Thanks !!!

Thule actually sold locks for the feet. the ones i've seen had the lock was in the knob, when you locked it, it prevented the knob from turning and that was it.

I know they sell newer version foot kits for like $200. just go on their website

Park your car in the garage.... or sell the Thule and get a Yakima. The Thule I had came with the knob locks but its design allowed the rack to be easily removed without having to back out those knobs.

Both Thule and Yakima have locking capabilities. Locks....are for honest people as a deterent, thief is going to take item if he/she wants.

For past three years I have driven my Tahoe with Yakima rack on the roof with 5 bike trays and three wheel holders and it was all there when I removed em to sell the truck.

Thanks all. So as it turns out, I bought my roof rack from the black market. It was stolen and then sold on ebay for quick cash.... whoops. Didn't have a key so that's a little suspicious... Feel bad haha maybe I should call the number on the roof rack where the previous owner engraved his number with a key

like others have said, there is a locking version of every rack and attachment type out there to buy. I use locking racks and non-locking attachments. For my bikes/kayak, I put a cable lock around the bike/kayak and the roof rack bar.
