    Trunk lock actuator help

So, the central locking ability of my trunk lock has never worked from the day I bought the car. It locks/unlocks well through its own lock cylinder, but it never actuates the central locking system nor does it lock/unlock when I actuate the central locking through the driver side lock cylinder.

I went ahead and took at look at why it wasn't doing anything, and it seems like the actuator is not connected to the lock cylinder (or the mechanism that would drive the actuator) and is missing part # 7 shown here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=41_0582

Could anyone provide me with a picture or a description of how the rod is supposed to be connected? I've been finding so many of these little random things missing from the car and have no access to a nice example that has everything in it :(

    Thank you!

how do you know the actuator is not connected to the lock cylinder? Have you checked the central locking device behind the front left speaker? Here's a couple of pictures and one with the most common failure mode.

That's the thermal fuse. If you decide to repair it do NOT add any solder that is not low temp. Otherwise you risk burning out the entire locking system. AMHIK
