    Sport Seat Sliders

Hi All. I think I've searched every nook and cranny of the internet, and cannot find an answer to this question -

Is there anyway to separate the inner and outer parts of the seat rails (sliders)?

I'm rebuilding/reupholstering my seats, and the rails have a little rust i'd like to take care of, then repaint. It kind of seems like the front and rear mounting points might come off by spinning like a nut, but i don't have a wrench that will fit in between the rail and the lower mounting plate.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Been through this myself but like you, couldn't find a way to completely separate the two pieces. It appeared to me that there were two tabs in one of the rails that prevent the rails from coming apart. When you think about it, its probably a safety issue.

I wire brushed the heck out of mine, moving the track back and forth. Also took a file to the bearing track as I had some rough spots. Then uses some rust prevention and painted them first one way, let the paint dry, then slide them to the other end, and paint what I missed.
