Is it possible to machine down the hub of a wheel to gain offset? I am looking at a set of ESM 002 16x8 et20 that are a steal of a price, but since I have an IX I need higher offset around et28-35 to make em fit without super stretched tire. I have heard that you can turn em down with a lathe a little bit but not confident about taking 8mm off the hub. Not entirely sure that it would work considering the hub would be decreased in strength considerably.
Any input or anybody willing to say that I am totally crazy and it's a dumbass idea?
