    Dirt Every Day

Is anyone else watching this show on Netflix? I'm not really into 4-wheeling and off-roading (except motorcycles), yet, but this show is AWESOME! It's like a cross between Monster Garage and Top Gear, for 4x4s. Host is funny, lot of understated humor and sarcasm, not much hyperbole or contrived crap, and projects are insane. They really seem to know how to have a good time on a budget. The third or fourth episode had them convert a giant dilapidated RV into an "adult" go-kart. Crazy. Now I'm looking for a jeep or rock crawler for myself.

I thought it was just on the Motor Trend channel on youtube. Is this new? I'll have to take a look. I never really got into it on youtube since you had to subscribe to MT's channel, and it was only like one video out of thirty others that I had no interest in.

I think the Netflix series must be a "best of" the Motor Trend channel. I binged 17 episodes in two nights.

I did watch their YouTube review of the new TRD Pro Tundra. Really liked it, and made me want to buy the truck very badly.

Meh. If I'm going through the effort, I'll do it on IH8MUD. It's a Land Cruiser specialty site, for those who don't know. I need to spend quality time there for an education. Maybe I'll post up highlights of my planned mild restoration somewhere around here.

Which, by the way, is about how much I paid for the e30 which is on the high end of vehicular value for the dollar, versus each of my KTMs, which also cost the same and are on the lower end of the value scale. So, you can either have a clean, fully functional e30 with tasty bits thrown in, a rusty classic Land Cruiser, or a moderately used Euro dirtbike which is nothing but two wheels, an engine/frame, and a handlebar.

Yeah, starts easily, runs, doesn't leak, frame is solid. Half the electrics work, and the body's rusty. PO put in an auxiliary tank and rifle barrel clips (it was his hunting rig). Has the original Warn 8274 winch.

It used to be better i reckon. The last few episodes have been "sponsors gave us 50k worth of parts so we are going to bolt them on and do some lame driving on dirt"

I imagine that's the way of things, success ruins everything. I suspect that's what happened to Top Gear and Grand Tour, amongst others.

I've watched the Netflix series, which must be some kind of "best of." Also a few random Youtube episodes.

They built that crazy 4x4 muscle car, the RV go-kart, Ranger/Land Rover abomination, the massive military truck doing some 4-wheeling, and other nuttiness.

I like the host Fred Williams a lot. Understated, fun, never mean-spirited. Tackles dirty projects like a real workman, doesn't seem to sweat the details. I like how he opens the garage door the next morning of a project and says "Aww, it didn't finish itself. Again." And the "room for activities" references I get.

I don't normally gush over a show, but this one really entertained me and literally made me buy a 4X4 I didn't realize I needed. Actually, I've always liked these old FJ40s, and almost bought one in '97. The show just took me back to my roots.
