Do the fogs mount to the spoiler like an Mtech 1 or do you need the euro valence or a bracket to mount the fogs?

That being said, if you are conveting the North American model, "euro" bumpers, brackets, 82-85 foglights&brackets will be needed. Your metal valance can be cut to fit or you can still buy part # 41331884353.
If you have an 85-87 "euro" model you will still need the foglight brackets only,
You could cut the valance but in this case I recommend selling it and buy #41331884353

You'll need the early-early metal valance and it's corresponding foglights/brackets.

It's got more angle back then the late-early (or metal bumper facelifted) version.

The early-early requires a bracket that actually mounts to those flat areas of metal beneath headlights in the engine compartment. If you look at it from above, you'll see four holes forming a rectangle or box. There is a fifth mount that actually attaches to the bottom of the metal valance just below the fog light hole. I have this same setup also on my Alpina B6.

The bulbs are Hella and still can be got, but the bracket you'll need to search on eBay for or ask Sskoda to get you a pair.

Also, the early-early valance is a two piece design like the '84 US 318 had, and so you'll need the upper part sits below the headlights/grilles. You can use a US version (that's what I did) with the euro metal valance, and it'll mount fine. I can't recall if they are indeed the same part number.

I think CEP can get the metal valance, I've picked them up new out of Europe for under $300 shipped (cheaper if you do what I did and buy a couple at the same time.)

                  Genuine Hartge or repo?

this is a repro, yet the original was also fiberglass.
                    can't tell the two apart.

AFAIK, you don't absolutely *need* the lower metal valance as this can simply be popped on both ends of a euro bumper.

I do have the same repro as well and yes, you could run it without a metal valance and just the foglights with the upper supports attached to the car. Thought, I would add some stays or supports to it to prevent cracking from deflection at speed.

Here's the foglight bracket on my Alpina:

The bottom bolt is not entirely necessary, but is used to snug the foglight to the metal valance.

                      Early-Early valance:

Yes, you do not need the euro valance to make this spoiler work. Not going to make any difference in a front end crash:). I have this spoiler on the h26; fits nice and is easy to put on.
