    Lower Timing Cover Bolts

I know I just had a thread about the lower timing cover and the seals, but I'm just like lost here. I ended up getting the front crank seal and input shaft seal pressed into the timing cover and I got it on the block, but I work out of a storage unit because I live in the barracks with no garage and shit gets crowded in my unit so I lost the bolts for it.

Realoem and the bmwfans parts manuals say that the bolts that go on the cover are m8x25. I bought some M8x25 and they totally didn't fit. Way too big. So I went and bought some M6x25 and they thread in like butter, but they are too long. They start to bottom out with 2-3mm of thread left. I don't think it's the threads and I don't want to try to torque them because I already snapped on in the block, but was luckily able to vise grip it out. Any help would be appreciated, rookie mistake not labeling and bagging all my bolts, but most nuts and bolts are threaded to the part they go onto.

Edit - These aren't for the bolts that go through the dowel. I am referring to the other 4.

yep real OEM is wrong (washer they use is correct though lol) i remember this issue to but dont recall the exact length. m6 x 20 seems like the go then if 25 are too long. just cut yours shorter or add a really thick washer so it doesnt bottom out. they could be M6x22 or some odd ball size

right thread, right length so the there is good engagement but doesnt bottom out, right grade then torque up GTG
