    M20 Turbo Stroker

    Here is my situation....
I just got a 88 325ix coupe with a 5 speed and a blown head gasket. I have roughly 15-20k to build this motor and turbo it. I want to know what is going to be the best way to build a stroker motor capable of handling high boost and put down serious HP. I want at least 500hp. The brakes suspension and other aspectsof the car has its own seperate budget of 10k, so i wont be neglecting them either. I want to see what is the most i can get out of the M20 block and keep the AwD intact. So basically how would you personally configure the motor? Which pistons, crank and conrods to stroke to what liter to handle 20psi + of boost? What turbo kit can be built to accomadate the goals? How do i see all these videos on youtube of m20s with 1000hp but in the forums i never see more than 400hp? Is my goal realistic? Sorry im just new and enthused. So help me build a monsterous FI m20 stroker!

I'd more more concerned with reinforcing the front drivetrain.

What kind of numbers do you estimate you will get out of your engine in that configuration? Anything you eould have done differentlty?(besides what is noted in the thread)

How? besides adding length or a spacer to the front driveshaft to protect the splines?

Your gonna need a way to get a stronger front diff, some people add 2 extra spider gears which I've heard is not easy. Or try putting a e34 front diff in which also isn't easy. Check my build thread if you want some ideas.

I get the feeling this car is going to end up in the scrap yard sooner than later.

Basically there is thousands of threads about this stuff. You are going to have to do your homework. Also the ix front diff is very weak, you are really going to have to figure a solution around that to use your motor to its full potential.
