    Can powder coating affect center bore?

    tl/dr; 2 Borbet Type C's fit front hubs but not rear, is the recent powder coating effecting the wheel's actual center bore and causing fitment issues? Or are these 2 wheels the wrong center bore from the get go, and need to be machined.

    And for the readers;

    The guys who powder coated my wheels clearly didn't do a great job and failed to mask off the flange and center bore of the wheels, so there's powder coat everywhere. I've come to a accept that I'll need to clean the powder coat off the hub flanges to avoid vibration, but I'm having more of a problem with the center bores at the moment.

    2 of the 4 wheels fit front & rear fine aside from some rubbing on the front struts, the other 2 seem to fit the front hubs but not the rear, strangely. Unfortunately these 2 wheels that don't fit easily in the back have the offset I'd prefer to run on the rear. Borbet Type C, 15x7, ET 30 and 35, respectively. Shooting for spacers all around to get near a +20 offset.

    Did Type C's come in more than one center bore?

    The 2 wheels in question will mount and bolt up on the front, sliding *fairly* easily onto the hub center, but the interference from the tire hitting the strut won't let them bolt flush easily, they rest maybe 1-2mm from the hub face without tightening the lugs fully and pretty much running the rim into the strut body.

    In the rear the same 2 wheels require a ton of effort to get on the hub, and I've pushed a fair amount of powder coat off just trying to get them flush with the brake hat, I've come to within 3-4mm of flush, working my way around tightening the lugs systematically, before I got nervous about fucking up the rim/hub/rotor/etc and stopped. No contact with brake/strut that I can see.

    Can powder coat be laid on thick enough to cause this kind of problem? Why do 2 of 4 slide on easily and the other 2 are being a pita only in the rear? The front/rear problem with the 2 wheels is kind of a mind fuck to me, if it fits the front hub it should fit the rear, right!? Am I due for a trip to the machine shop for some work?

    Thanks in advance for any knowledge or thoughts.
