    FS: 1989 325IX 5 speed Vermont 3,900$

I have decided to part ways with my E30 as I have too many things going on. This was my first BMW and will not be my last. Its in a fantastic position for someone to pick up where I am leaving off. Tons of recent major maintenance with receipts included. This was one of the cleanest ones that I came across when looking, just looking to break even. My price is 3,900$. Located in Killington, VT.

    1989 BMW 325ix
Inspected until April 2018 in VT
    254,600 (odometer works)
    5 speed manual
    M tech steering wheel
15" basket weaves with brand new nitto nt450 tires for summer
    Black heated leather (works)s

TONS of recent maintenance. Comes with plenty of receipts for all stuff done during my ownership.

I bought the car mid winter for a daily and tore into it immediately thinking it needed a head gasket. Long story short, it did not. Every single gasket, sensor, etc was replaced while the head was off. The car has 254xxx miles... motor had original cross hatching on all six cylinders... pictures to prove it. Car does not burn a drop of oil. Mobil one 5w30 synthetic and oem filter used only.

Runs and drives great some small hiccups that need to be worked out but nothing major at all, I drive it daily and love the car.

Transfer case works, AWD was amazing for second half of winter I drove it in this year.

It has the typical E30 rust spots such as the plate lights and front driver fender. Passanger is still ok but the flare is disconnected a bit at the bottom easy fix with double sided tape or with new flare clips. Dash has a few small cracks and previous owners dog unfortunately bit off a section of it, but dashes are cheap if you really wanted to replace I even have a local buddy who has one if you wanted to buy one. Some batter box rust etc but still overall solid needs one section fixed to be perfect easy to do though not as bad as most. Sturt towers are solid, no rust. Rear perches are great too. I tried to take pictures of most rust areas that people ask about with these cars, understand this is my first BMW.

Black leather interior in great shape. Heated seats work.

    Since I've had the car:

    New windshield
    Inspection done in April
Brand new summer nitto tires put on last week 5/18
Done at 250k when I got the car with new oem parts:

    Head gasket
    Head studs
    Coolant flush and fill
    New radiator
    Water temp sensor
    Coolant sensor
    Timing belt
    Water pump
    Thermostat
    Exhaust gaskets
    Intake gaskets
    Crank sensor
    All radiator hoses
    All breather hoses
    Intake boot
    Intake filter
Oil change w Mobil 1 and Mann filter
    Valve cover gasket
    Spark plugs
    Cap and rotor
    Ignition coil
    Axle back exhaust replaced
    Rear shocks
    Fuel filter
    Fuel pressure regulator
    ICV
    Purge valve
    Charcoal canister
    Drive belts
    Windshield
    Inspection
    Brand new tires

More I'm sure I'm forgetting but listed on receipts. If it was on the car it was replaced.

Car has the elipsoid headlights with 5k HID conversion lights up very well and clean cutoff.
The ski racks come on the car only for full asking price. Thule bars with thule ski/board attachment, relatively new.
Ken wood rear deck speakers just put in
Older nakimichi headunit w AUX works great

Tons of little stuff I'm forgetting I'm sure. I will get better pictures in the daylight.

Overall sold car no major rust compared to most, very solid. The car just had well over 2500$ put into it in the last 4K miles.

    Could use:

Shifter bushings I have new ones included
Occasional CEL there is a vaccum leak somewhere that I haven't had time to track down... very random and only will flash then Is off for weeks. Idle is sometimes bouncing so definitely a vaccum leak but very small as I haven't found it.
Tiny oil leak from corner of valve cover as one stud broke off during head replacement... only noticeable if climbing a hill for a long time it will drip. Has not lost a spec of oil on dipstick in 3500 miles.
Rear driver window doesn't go up or down, could just be the switch haven't had time to investigate, all others work perfectly.

This engine is STRONG. I was amazed.

Bill of sale only didn't come with title obviously way to old to be required anyways.

            UPDATE

I finally had a rain free day too investigate the issue with the idle and CEL today. I can't believe it took so long, but the throttle body gasket was leaking and causing all of my headaches. Replaced today with a brand new gasket and the car is running PERFECT now.

            3900$ takes her home!!!

I think the lack of a title is going to be an issue for almost every potential buyer. Out here in AZ, a car manufactured in 1989 (not that long ago in the scheme of things) definitely needs a title to be legitimate.

Do you have any way to get a title for it? That would dramatically increase your potential buyer base.

You can register this car in any US state!
Just because VT/NH won't issue a title for a 25 year old car doesn't mean that a state like NJ or AZ can penalize you for that.
They will just create a title for the car. I've done this many times!

Have met you before! Thanks for the kind words and help, I may be in soon for bikes actually!!! Plan to bring business your way!

As he mentioned^^^ there is not much I can do to get the title in VT. VT and NH and many other states in New England follow the same rules and if you really want a title it is easy to get, for me to get one from VT is a waste more or less as they don't issue them and would take far to long. If anyone HAS to have a title, it can be created in your state no problem. Shouldn't be an issue in New England specifically at all, for other states further away I am not familiar with the rules w DMV. But I've personally lived in RI, CT and VT all of which are the same. Thanks for all the thoughts either way!

I did a little research and can work with someone title wise if it were a deal breaker.... just would take a while so again not really worth it. Anybody in New England will not have an issue and your state will issue a new title. Included in the sale is a bill of sale, and the registration from the car which serves as a bill of sale and proof of ownership in VT. So as stated it's a non issue... if someone from far away wanted the car and absolutely has to have a title I can call VT DMV but the site specifically states we do not issued titles for vehicles over 15 years old. Special requests can be made, and may be denied for vehicles over 25 years. Just thought I'd add that.
