felt tape for under dash, or use regular electric tape?

is there any specific reason why i should use the felt/hockey tape on the wire harness under the dash. Im finally done with my drivetrain and started to pull the interior since it was such a piece of crap. As usual with these cars the previous owner decided to mess with the wiring and pulled most of the tape off the wiring.

are there any benefits of using the felt tape to organize all the wires or can i just used regular 3m super 33 electric tape?

I would go with the fabric tape. Tesa 50125 or 50126 is fine for use under the dash.

Agreed on fabric; I used 3M Temflex.

Electrical tape gets nasty after a couple years, and doesn't really stick very well. Friction or felt tape will hold up much better, isn't nasty to handle, and doesn't lose strength under heat.

Electrical tape is for electrical isolation, not making harnesses. You don't need isolation, you are using insulated conductors.
