    2.7i build questions

Ok so I have just about everything together for the head swap, but a question came up. I pulled a harness and ecu from an i. My question is do I need to pull the fuse box side as well? The pins are different on my car compared to the parts car I grabbed the harness from, but everything I looked at just said "wiring harness" was needed so I'm not sure if thats just the plug and play part or the fuse box as well. Thanks for any info!
(Also, if you have a 325i cluster you're willing to part with, I'm in the market for one :D)

Just print the diagrams for both harnesses cut and solder wires into each other, or make a adaptor, a few people have done it but I hear it's a hassle to make the adaptor

Before you cut anything read this. Then go to wedophones.com and download an electrical diagram. Look for C101

Your stock fuse box will work fine.

The 87i harness is the plug and play version due to the same style C104 connector for all 84 to 87 e cars. If you have an 84-85 e car, you need to make a rectangular to round C101 fuse box adapter.

Mines an 87e with I believe a 89 i harness. (Need to check the papers on the i parts car to make sure)

Your 87e should have a round C101 which is PNP for the 89 harness. You may have thenodd plug or wire to sort but the main connectors will work fine

Check pin 20 on your engine harness. The later cars powered the ABS through pin 20. The chassis side pin 20 on your 87e is a ground which = a short and smoke if hooked together.
