I wanted to post the same thing a few days ago but forgot. Here is mine for comparison.

This was with a freshly rebuilt S52 bottom end, fresh S50 top end, 540i MAF, 21.5# Pink Injectors, ebay headers, 2-to-1 2.5" to the back with two straight two mufflers and a Turner Motorsports chip.

Nice numbers. I think i can get more hp but I don't want to lose all my low end torque. This is a street car So I spend a lot of time in 3k-4500 area

I basically daily drive my car and is completely fine, but its always more fun being higher in the RPMs :)

Also, I have no idea what the graphs should look like, but at least now I do see that my torque numbers are low-ish in the low end.

Should make more and why the dip at 5500?

My S52 cam'd OBD1 M52 made 225whp, this should make more I think. you do have 20 more ft/lb of torque than I do though

              Don't want to alarm...

I've seen this dip before...make sure (100%) that you do not have 2.8 cams in the motor.

This looks exactly like mine did when I was sold a S50 with 2.8 cams in it.

This is what Randy at epic told me.... I'd rather have it like this in a street car though even if this is the case. I love all the low end torque

M52 cams would cause a more dramatic dive after 6k

Also, if you turn the vanos off ~600 RPM sooner and power increases significantly and the dip smooths out then this will confirm you have M52 cams.

Well...It's been a long time (and a new motor) but going from the M52 cams to proper S50 cams, the motor went from 227/226 to 238/230, but that was not the largest gain. The largest gain was around 6800, where the S50 cams were making almost 40 horsepower more. The peaks were not alarmingly different (227 to 238), but 40 horse at 7K is a big deal. The M52's just lay down around 6K, dramatically falling off.

I'll have to dig up the sheets at home...

Anything is possible I guess. It was from a 95 m3 with a Turner chip. No one ever said anything to the previous owner about it being an s52 or having a Turner chip (previous owner was a friend) I noticed the pink injectors and obd2 plug under the starter then realized it was an s52 while doing the swap. I guess I'll find out when I eventually do the cans someday

This is on a 2.8 with m50 manifold before and after S52 cams for reference....

Next is vanos and riot racing cams. I'd be curious to see those dyno sheets if you find them
