Won't go into first gear sometimes

On occasion my transmission won't shift into first gear. It used to be super infrequent but it's happening more and more often now. When it does happen I press the clutch in several times and eventually it will engage. I've changed the transmission oil but it didn't help. What could this be and what do I do next?

Try bleeding the clutch slave, and if that doesn't help, see if you can see
a fluid leak, either at the slave or master.

It sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging fully.

Or they re leaking internally which you wont see. The fact that pumping the clutch seems to help , means you have a hydraulic problem.
