    Car numbers...

I want to look at getting some stick on numbers for my car, like magnets basically. Any good suggestions on choosing some good numbers? ;)

Also, where would I purchase numbers that will slap on to my car, and come off easily when my event is over?

It's a royal pain to deal with the shoe polish, may as well get something that's really easy to use.

I took part in my first autocross just this prior sunday. it was fun flipping our 87 325 around, and kicking the rear end lose. I couldn't do much more to get a better time. I was pushing that thing so hard. I'm using tires with a treadwear rating of 580, so they are hard tires. :P My dad's M3 was a A LOT easier to drive in the first autocross I took part in, but the E30 was more fun to drive, it took a lot more concentration to get it to do what I wanted it to do. I have it on video so it should be up here soon most likely.

I went to a company called Tap Plastics. They sell sheets of magnet material per foot. I bought 2 feet for just over $10 and used numbers off of the computer to trace and cut out two complete sets with enough left over to do at least one more set. I then painted them black to stand out on my red car. Mine are about 5" tall and fit on the underside on my trunk lid for keeping between autox's.

Come on, masking tape is where it's at! 8)

I want to get a set of magnetic numbers too, though.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

magnet numbers blow they always fall off then the poor worker, usually u has to fetch them... Just stick with the low budget paint safe masking tape, works great and you get a whole damn roll for 6 bucks

on another note if you add a few suspension mods and what not you too can be less than a tenth off of the FTD ;)

T Schreyer 87 BMW, beat by a damn CRX :( grrr damn things a go kart

bilstein sports and Suspension Tech. springs, no rear spring pads, was slightly damp and I ran about 38psi on my Kumho 711's, The car is so much stiffer now with the 4pt cage in it. I am in the process of making rear sway bar mounts much like the IE ones. And converting to solid heim joint sway links. The stock sways are nice but I would like to step up to both a larger front and rear to offset some of the roll, I like the current set up as the car can pitch into a corner nicely just need a bit less roll

There's someone here that takes his E34 M5 out to the autocross instead of a 91 318is he has sitting at home... :x :? ;)

I'll be in my dad's M3...it's finally time to see how I REALLY compare. It'll be a hard comparison though, cause in an autocross, each car has it's advantages. It'll be VERY interested. And, my second time ever autocrossing in the M3 - we're on the same level Kris. 8)

                        I can't wait.

there was an M3 at the last autocross I went to, it placed somewhere in the bottom of all the cars. of course that's probably because both people who drove the car missed so many gates and hit so many cones they only got one time between them, and it had a 30 second penalty :P

I thought that web address looked familiar! I used to autocross with them before I moved down near St. Louis. I'll probably be doing one with them sometime this summer when I go home to visit my parents.
