    Top two torx bolts..

Ok, getting extentions in to these bolts on an auto is easy enough, but now that i have the manual trans in, i can't see anyway to get them in there. I hand tightened the bolts, but is it just a matter of jacking/loweing the trans/engine etc, or is there some trick to it? I can't just leave them hand tightened.

You have to lower the tranny as much as possible to give yourself some room in there. Get creative with extentions and u-joints and feed it in over the top of the tranny. That is how I did it. Hope that helps.

      Hey BS87...

jacking up the front of the engine will give you the room you'll need.
Dont jack it up too high, just enough so you can install the top bolts.
also make sure use a pad to protect the oil pan, check the pic

      good luck

Thanks, I just realised a few hours after i left the house that i forgot to unbolt the rear trans mounts, so it was just raising up the front end  I hate when i do stupid shit like that. Thanks guys.

What a PITA these bolts are. Jacking up the engine didn't seem to do anything. I'll try unbolting the motor mounts tomorrow. I had the engine jacked up to the point it started to lift the car :?

I had to get creative with extensions and pivots too. Jack the front of the engine up, and lower the rear of the tranny and you'll still need some patience. Sorry thats all I have for you :(

I didn't have the need to jack up the front of the engine. The weight of the tranny just brought the rear down by itself.
There is a little stopper pad that is designed to keep the tranny from lowering too much. I had to unbolt that thing, to give myself an extra inch to work with. Good luck.

Finnaly got them, thanks guys. I wound up having to feed the extensions behind the rubber shit in the tunnel, and out one of the holes, onto the bolt on the right side. Top was easy once the tranny lowered a bit.

                        Jordan,
That is the motors chasity belt. It keeps people from working on it by dropping in thier eyes by finding a way to get into goggles(not to mention every orafice in the human body).

When i blew an oil line, thats what my engine looked like.. just after it had been removed and completely cleaned. What a frustrating experience.
