M20 Stroker.. How easy can it be done?

I am looking at a mild rebuild to my M20 as is and was wondering how hard and how many problems I may run into doing a stroker conversion. Am I going to need to do major work to the head, new cams, computer software, throttle body.. etc. I have about a 2 month time in the summer to do this and I want to do it right, if you know what I mean, so if I was to do it "right" how much of a pain in the ass is it or how easy is it? I have an 89 325i, the 2.5 liter. Also what kind of stroker would you recomend, I have heard of Korman and Ireland Engineering but nothing else.

it's not really any harder than any engine rebuild, it just depends on how much you want to spend. forged pistons run around $800 for a set, about half that for standard pistons. either way they would need to be custom to work with the i head and e crank. of course you need an e crank, i rods and everything else you'd normally require to rebuild a motor. a cam would probably be a good idea as well as porting the head.

there are really many recipies for an M20 stroker, but the above seems to be the most straight forward.

Yea I saw most of the things but it didnt get into too much detail, most of the posts were saying they were getting ready to put one in or something and replies were like oh nice thats gonna be awesome. Question for ya though: If I get a kit wont that include a crank?
