    water pump noise

    I recently replaced all my belts and water pump. On the first start up after install I heard a small clangy noise, but then it went away after it warmed up. I have now been driving the car around for the last couple weeks and it runs great, no leaks, no heating issues, but the noise is getting louder. I am assuming the water pump has bearings and I think they might be bad. Just to make sure that this is the problem I want to confirm that the water pump does have bearings and that it is very possible that they could be bad. I checked over all my parts for anything lose or anything that might be touching the fan. Everything is in place, and everything runs great. Just that damn "metal rattle noise." Anyone have any ideas, past experiences, or thoughts about this issue? Thanks

    make absolutely sure that your water pump pulley bolts are tight, if not it will make that metal noise, and break from fatigue

      or I suppose it could be bearing in the new Tbelt tensioner right?

            Just to conclude.... It turned out to be not enough tension on the T-belt and it was vibrating and jerking the tensioner in a weird way. I followed the Bently on the install... It said to let loose the spring and pin and then rotate the crank twice over to set the tension. And I did all that, but I think my spring is getting super soft and it didnt put enough pressure on the tensioner. So I pushed it by hand until it was nice and good. Re-installed all the other belts and parts and it started up nice and good with no noise. YAY...

              the point of turning the crank is to just relieve slack on the back side. in addition to that, you are to put a moderate amount of force to get the belt tight.
