    REAL BAD BRAKE FADE need help bc its the dd

    ok, it happend to me twice and its starting to freak me out.

    When i go to press the break, it just seems to give out and i squish it to the floor with no stop; then when i quickly release and apply pressure again the brakes seem fine and i can stop. this happend to me twice today almost resulting in a collision.

    I checked the fluid and all seems fine and at the level i had it when i changed the tranny out. there appears to be no leaks and the booster to manifold like in vacuum tight. it only happened today.

    Any ideas, or does anyone know why???

    Well, to start eliminating things, I would say it's not vacuum, or it wouldn't go to the floor, it would just be hard to push.

    Does it have ABS?

            no its not the abs model.

            so most think its the mc? how would i check that?? also i havent bled the brakes in a while, but would not bleeding them cause this to happen??

              I vote master cylinder. This is their common going out symptom. I assume that really dirty old nasty fluid could cause the ports to get clogged at random times causing a problem.

              Flush it out and drive carfull for a while to see if it fixes it.

                  I had the same issue some time ago. It is the master cylinder. As for getting a rebuilt one, it is your brakes, kinda important, so I'd get a new one. I'm sure that others will disagree. As for price, BMA or fap99.

                    anyone know the difficulty of removal/installation? im bouts to order the replacement part. it looks fairly strait forward:

                    -Remove the brake lines from the MC
                    -Two nuts to remove the MC from the BB
                    -Replace old MC with new MC
                    -Reverse order
                    -Bleed

                    is there anything else that would need attention during this process?

                      new nyloc nuts to booster, new quality fluid, pressure bleeder if you don't already have one spend the money, you'll love the thing.

                          When you get a new MC, get the larger one that comes out of the 7 series. Makes your brakes feel nice and tight.

                            ok, i got the mc and all but is there supposed to be a specific order when bleeding? Lots of my friends (car fanatics) say that brakes are bled in a specified order; is this true to the e30?? if so do you know the order and the reason as to why? just curious...
