    Portland Shop Day?

Just ordered a bunch of suspension parts as well as new rims, headlights, etc. Everything should be here within the next few weeks, and I was hoping to install them myself. Thing is I don't have many tools/lifts, and haven't ever replaced a suspension system myself.

I know in the past there've been shop meets where the E30 guys get together and work on things. Is there any interest in either a full shop day or someone assisting me in my project? :D

I don't have a shop (just a 1 car garage) but I'm sure someone round here does.

Interest? Maybe Mid/late November or early December?

I think I am the only one in the area with a lift. I have hosted 3 this year and am done with them for now. GL

Since no one else responded, I let you use my shop.
I have to some work on the track 328 and the future PRO3 car, but I'll work you in.

I don't have a lot of space and wont have much time to help. I'd take advantage of Keith's generosity if I were you. Maybe by him lunch or something at least.

You can replace the whole front end with a basic set of metric ratchets. The Bentley outlines the whole thing... it's pretty straight forward.

And I would say Keiths style of lift would slow down suspension work compared to tall jackstands and a decent floorjack.

On the other hand, Keith, when you gonna get wrenching on the racecar? I wanna come up and help.

Appreciate it, Keith. That's very nice of you. Once all my parts get in I'll shoot you a PM most likely towards the end of the month. I'm not sure how much of the work I'll be doing myself and how much I'll be sending to a shop. Will be trying to get as much done on my own as I can.

....I need to buy a Bentley manual.

Actually you need to buy two. The e36 manual for the M42 and an e30 one for the rest of the car.

I've done two complete suspensions and two (soon to be three) motor swaps.

Let me know what you want to do.

Luke - Jackstands? Fuck that. The lift riser only goes to the standard jack points and it doesn't get in the way of anything.

The race car will get started when I get off my ass and start on it. I'll let you know.

Ya, at first I thought Keith's lift would interfere, but It doesn't at all to be honest.
