    E30 M3 clutch in 318 M10 - help

    Hello everyone,

I am looking for an answer from someone who has done this already.
The question is... do I really need an 323 throwout bearing to have the setup working? Other say am 525 bearing will also work.
I need an answer before I start this thing...

My parts collection is so far this:
    - M3 E30 clutch disk
    - M3 E30 Pressureplate
    - 2002 228 flywheel

    Can someone help me?
    Regards Stefan

I used the 323 throwout with the 228 flywheel- when you compare the stack height
of the 215 mm clutch cover and flywheel to the 228, it's quite a bit thicker.

    I would recommend it.

Hey Toby, thanks for your answer.
At what hight is your clutch engaging with this setup?
      0-25%
      25-50%
      50-75%
      75%- above?

At the moment my clutch is gone (215mm) and it is engaging at 80%...

      thanks!

About 25%. A nice high pedal, with plenty of travel after the 'knee' point of the diaphragm.

It should self- adjust to that if everything's set up right.
