Did BMW never make e30's with a black carpet from the factory? I noticed even in cars with black seats and panels, the carpet remains grey

Anthracite was the darkest oem color. You can still get the front (main) piece new, but the rear piece is NLA. Dirtboy has the anthracite front and grey rear. I think he's going to dye the rear to match.

great! thank you very much!
Of all the black interiors I've seen in most of the e30s I run into, they had grey carpetting. I assumed it was an interior swap at one point but I guess BMW shut the production of black carpets to reduce costs. Could be worse though, I'm just glad grey makes a perfect 2 tone scheemLast edited by bmwstephen; 05-20-2010, 06:18 PM.

Finished. The flash washes it out a bit, but it's a very deep black. I'm pretty happy with it.
You're going to need 3 cans MINIMUM, I ended up using 5 total. 4 on the initial process, and I wanted a spare for areas that I might find later that were lighter or got messed up. I'm going to be using black floormats, and I also didn't use hardly any on the transmission tunnel, since it's all covered by consoles. I didn't go as heavy under the seats, either.

You don't really PAINT the carpet though right, you are supposed to DYE it...otherwise it doesn't feel as nice anymore.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205
