Yup - very easy. Those front tow hooks make convenient grabbing locations.

Here's Louise, makin' all those homies with the air-bag suspension jealous.... Don't hate, she's got ups!

(and apparently wasn't completely empty of coolant...)

Now, I wouldn't recommend this method for every motor swap, but in my case since I'm completely stripping the car, it made sense. Once all the wiring and hoses were disconnected, and exhaust off, a total of 17 bolts/nuts needed to be removed to do this. Knock that # down to 7 if the suspension is off already.

It certainly makes it easier to get to all the trans and Guibo bolts with it out of the car!

This weekend, rear end is coming off the car the same way. Or maybe Thursday night.

Only thing I would have done differently was keep the steering rack attached. That would have made it much easier to pull the assembly out - pulling backwards, the caster did its thing and wheels toed way out. Had to re-adjust the wheels a few times.

But I had someone who wanted to buy the steering rack a few weeks ago, and $ talks!

Making/using a strut bar would have been helpful too, but not necessary.

Oh, and NOT dropping the engine onto my creeper would have been sweet. That thing now has one completely fubared wheel... oops. I blame it on the rust. Actually, something more substantial like a movers dolly would have worked a lot better.
