For sale is an E36 M3 shift lever part number 25111222955
It's not shown on that diagram, it has the same length below the ball as the z3 2.8 and the Z4 3.0 shift lever, but the same overall length as the M-coupe lever. Plus it has a bend so your knob will be in the center of the Consule. BMA dosn't show it in their catalog, But I'm asking $55 shipped. I picked it up brand new at the Dealership, it's never been removed from it's sealed bag. I found another option to cure my M-coupe lever from hitting the driveshaft. This offer is only untill Tommorow afternoon, or else it gets returned. List price is $56 at our local dealership.
