Looks awesome! I have an NV M50 swapped car as well, and I know exactly what you mean about doing more work than needed for the exhaust system, I'm on the 3rd evolution of mine!
I have the ebay Supersprint rep headers, and we just cut the downpipes off of them, welded on a Flowmaster 2"-to-2.5" Y-pipe, had them inside/outside ceramic coated, and that will be going into a Borla ProXS and then back to a Vibrant Street Power.
Let me know if you have any questions, I've acquired a lot of knowledge during this swap!

I'm getting ready to scrap the S52 manifolds for something along those lines, what's absolutely required to fit them and where do the dumps end up?

it drives!
I also got my coils in finally, but ran into some trouble with the new strut assemblies
So, in the meantime I'm on cut springs - BALLER STATUS
Need new tires, too, this is going to get expensive
also, what the hell do these go to? Everything in the interior seems to be working...

got it put together and driving, the front end feels like it's driving on two flat tires, it needs an alignment but I've never felt any mis-aligned feel this awful. It's currently at an exhaust shop to get the exhaust welded up (third iteration, I'm DONE with messing with it) and then I can bolt new tie rods on to it to help the wobbly-ness of the the front-end.
Now I'm just ranting, here's some pictures, everybody's sold out of struts, so I haven't installed my coilovers yet, but bav will have another shipment of shocks on the 22nd.

some updates...
Got the exhaust back from the shop, it sounds incredible!
Once I adjust the engine positioning I'll make sure to get a sound clip (right now one of the headers is rubbing against the heatshield on the control arm.)
Of course, as I was driving back from the exhaust shop I developed a coolant leak at the heatercore piping, so I double-clamped the tubing and it went away, then bled the system of air bubbles.
Also managed to swap the e36 tie rod assemblies for e30 ones, and tightened up the front end.
Then I got the flu, so progress was slowed to a crawl.
Sticker-bombed my rack:
Also, yesterday I started to build my front suspension...
I decided against going with the bilstein pairing because I wanted dampening adjustment,
so I decided to build my own fully-adjustable, height-adjustable front-end.
necessary 1.5" OD spacers, needed to take up the 3.00" of extra space from using smaller shocks
Cut off spring perches for coilover sleeves
dampening adjustment!
heavier-duty strut bearing, will give smoother movement and a better fit on the top-side
ta-da! good fit!
making sure everything fits, ran out of patience before I could figure out how to remove the stock strut bearing and install the news ones since a lug-nut stripped on the passenger side wheel and the strut tower nut on the driver's side stripped internally.
Awful day.Last edited by ScHpAnKy; 07-15-2012, 06:27 AM.

Ok, now that it runs for the most part, I'm focusing on the interior finally...
Even though the VARTA RST's are still in the Si board, it looks like somebody at least made the attempt to replace them, that or the board just has some serious crud inside. Also, euro gauges don't have a coding plug? For the exception of the temperature gauge, nothing else seems to be working.
interior ripped apart for the 353,467th time, hopefully picking up a new steering wheel this weekend!
Installed the new coilovers front and rear, still need to roll fenders and then slam this thing on it's face when I get the skidplate
long-tube headers, pardon the mess, I don't plan on washing it until it's nearer to completion.
Below view, the components consist of:
headers, OBD1 e36 pre-cat, random 2.5" tubing into universal cat, straight-pipe into 2.5" magnaflow
and now.... what I've been whippin' while the 24v continues to not be finished
e28 535iS, ain't she purdy?
