Installed new lip today. Made from a butchered Jetta bumper. This thing is worlds more flexible than the modified divingboard air dam I was rocking.

I was a little to liberal with my trimming of the mounting surface, which is why the sides are sucked in too far. Let's call this a rough draft. I'll make another one soon.

Sad thing though, found out my driver's side ellipsoid glass is cracked :/

I'm pretty happy with it (for now).
Hopefully I'll have this thing somewhat painted tomorrow.

Yeah it's upside down. However it was also a part of the bumper cap of the Jetta. One whole piece. I cut it off the rest of the bumper. I did not see this separate Jetta lip if one exits.

No progress on the car, buuuut. I picked this up from the junkyard:

Figured I'd throw up an update. Still stockpiling for the 5-speed swap, while fixing little things.

                    Did the front brakes.

Started painting the car. It's Rustoluem satin, and I don't care. Due to that I've been painting the car in sections because its much easier to get right.

                    It rained the other day.

Picked up these Style 4's for $88

Also picked up this minty rebuilt driveshaft, heat shield, and crossmember all for $38 freaking bucks. Soon I will be able to shift again!

So, some jackhole backed into my car at work and ruined my passenger high beam and cracked the grille. Basically their bumper pushed the high beam back so the adjuster is now inside the housing, but some how the glass didn't break . . .
Oh, well, could have been worse I guess. I replaced the grille already and resprayed them all. Headlights just kind in there flopping around. It's being left that way until I get the rest of the parts to refurbish the headlights.

Still have to order high beam glass, already have two spare high beam housings though

Not much working on the car sadly, all i do is go to work then come home, stay up too late then sleep. Working overnights sucks. One of these days I'll find the motivation to get some of these parts actually on the car.

                            over a year later:
I ended up selling off my Style 4's and my Style 5's along with the shitty Motegi's that where on the car. Ended up settling on Avid1 AV-17's. First set of tires was far too small:

Had a monster monsoon storm in the fall:

Then I set about building a new driver's seat from a few junkyard sport seats. Took parts from 3 different seats to make one decent one.

Temporarily threw in a 6 button OBC until I repair my 13 button:

Then on my first vacation this year in march I finally had everything set to complete my manual swap. I must say it was as simple as I hoped it would be. Easier than RX-7's (until you get to the starter)
                            Cleaned everything:

Sprayed my white foam all over that tranny . . wait what?

                              Moar:

Machine shop guys can't spell, but their turnaround time is amazing:

                              Jaffster for girth:

                              Rain again

3 pedals and an auto shifter

                              Now the real fun begins

Carpet is disgusting, have some anthrazit to go in at some point

Checklist RoadKill style and my beer of choice

                              Time to go

This jack has paid for itself over the years

I swear the Crown Royal bag shift boot is temporary, also E36 window switches

                              Also, this for a giggle:

Grabbed supposedly rebuilt and modded to triple clutch 3.73LSD

Resealed it and swapped it out for the tired 4.10LSD

forgot to take more pics of that

Bypassed the leaky power steering for now, enjoying the feedback from the road

new, taller tires, much less fender gap

                                future:
