e36m Booster and MC in bay with m20.....will it fit.

I know there are several option. what I really need is the MC. So is there a boost that can be used in the e30 with an m20 that will mount a e36m MC. I've heard that an e34 booster will fit and with an adapter plate the MC can be mounted.

The E34 booster is more or less the same as the IX/E32 booster. It just lacks the removable spacer on the back of booster depending on the model. The 525i being the exception to that. It has a crazy big spacer on it and the booster is fatter than the other E34 boosters. The diameter of that booster is the same as the E36 booster.

To save running some PNs, here's what I have from digging on RealOEM and ATE in the past.

Underlined are the double chamber boosters that are smaller in diameter, but are a higher volume.

Colors indicate the same volume

E34 Boosters:
525i/535i PN: 34331160624 (10" diameter/ 2494cm^3*)
530i/540i PN: 34331161485 (8" diameter/ 3982 cm^3*)

E32 (Non-hydroboost) Boosters:
735i/il PN: 34331160625 (8" diameter/ 3430 cm^3*)
740i/il PN: 34331161485 (8" diameter/ 3982cm^3*)

E30 IX Booster:
325ix PN: 34331160486 (8" diameter/ 3430 cm^3*)

E36 Boosters:
318i/325i/M3,etc PN: 34331162965 (10" diameter/ 2494 cm^3*)

Will the stock booster not work with your setup? If it does, you could run a E32 750il MC. It's a 25mm like the E36 M3, but fits.

the stock booster will fit but the e36m MC which i;m pretty sure I need to use will not bolt up.

Right, but the 750 master cylinder has the same bias and the same diameter and will fit your stock booster.
