I got an email from Eastwood advertising that welder not more than 1 week after ordering my Miller Diversion 180. I have to say, it looks tempting but in the small amount of time I spent trying to research it I couldn't find much feedback.
About then I remember the POS arc welder I purchased from Eastwood about 8 years ago. I remember vividly how happy I was replacing it with my Miller mig. I know it's not comparing apples to apples in that case but it does bring up a good point when comparing "no-name" equipment to the likes of Miller or Lincoln - you get what you pay for...Last edited by iflytii; 03-05-2011, 04:45 PM.

It looks to be a decent inverter welder. Eastwood is pretty good about warrantying stuff.
The cheapest Miller AC/DC inverter welder is going to run you around $1300 for a Diversion 165, and it doesn't come with a footpedal, which will run you another $140.
For a hobbyist welding a handful of exhausts here and there, fabbing a few custom pieces for a car, it's hard to justify another $640 to get the Miller. On the flip side, when it comes time to sell a Miller or Lincoln, people will pay top dollar for a used unit.
