Sorry to hear (read) your misfortune. I have only had few car incidents so I am no 'pro' when it comes to body shops, but I was very impressed by Bellevue Auto Rebuild. They were very cordial, and even had the rental car right there so I had no hassle whatsoever. They did fix my e46 from a small fender bender (someone backed into my front grill and bumper).

They are not 'bmw-only specialists' though, however they deal with Porsche, Lambos, etc. Since they have been in business for awhile and their facilities are some of the best I have seen, I figure they are doing something a lot better than others.

At the end of the day the shop is only as good as the techs they manage to keep in staff. I am keeping my fingers crossed for my next time in the shop, hoping I get a good tech!

Well we got our car back today, still with a defective bumper. The hold up on that is Audi and no fault of Haury's. But my new paint is swirled and scuffed to shit, along with a few pretty good scratches. Please excuse the quality of the photos, what you see is what the entire car looks like. It's like they washed it with a box of rocks.

I am extremely hesitant. Literally every time I take the back to them to fix their mistakes the car returns with more mistakes/damage. Not to metion every time I do drop it off it takes a good couple months to get it back.

I think I may get a quote from NWAS and go from there.

Don't most insurance companies offer a re repair type deal?

Mine does, get work done, shitty, they pay for another shop to fix it

No. He said he "has an idea" but did not elaborate. It's funny though because the only other place it had been was at home in the garage for 5 days, where it had not been washed. This isn't the first, nor will it probably be the last, thing that they have tried to blame us for.

As far as re-repair goes. I am not sure. Their shop was not one of their approved repair facilities. We also had to pay a significant sum out of our own pocket and go after the insurance for short pay. We also paid of out of pocket to have other work performed that was not insurance related.

Generally you have to go through the shop's insurance. Which may be worth a letter from an attorney to make them fall in line. Especially if they offer a warranty on the repair. However, this usually only applies if they horrendously or unsafe or botched the job, e.g. Welding in a B pillar wrong.

This is the catch for having the law state that insurance cannot mandate for the owner to have the vehicle repaired at any certain place. They WILL and CAN suggest strongly that you go to their preferred shops(which are preferred for a multitude of reasons, least of which is quality,) but in the end it's your choice. And your problem.

What you get from an insurance preferred shop is the insurance company warranting the work for the lifetime you own the vehicle. The idea is that they have "vetted" the company properly.

Also, you haven't been very clear about the bumper and Audi situation, but from where I sit, with much knowledge about this process, it sounds like nonsense.

                      Good luck.

Jeff had a sit down with us. He seemed to genuinely feel bad and wanted to make things right. He was calm, professional, and receptive to what we had to say. We left with a plan to get the car repaired properly. Overall I am happy with our meeting and hope that things move smoothly from here.

I'll add my experience down with Haury's. (7/2015)

                              Pros
                              - Work quality was top notch
                              - Worked with my insurance no problem (Mutual of Enumclaw)
                              - Allowed me to source my own OEM parts

                              Cons
                              - office communication in its entirety

My advice to anyone is before taking their car here is to verify if they are approved shop or your insurance agent is comfortable working with them.

I wont lie the ordeal took far too long to be completed. (had to come to the shop directly to learn my car was even completed)

                              Thankfully everything checked out.

Honestly I came out ahead on my claim and pocketed some cash
