I don't know if it's the same length - I thought it was, but I can't find any info. They're allowed to shift the engine position in the chassis - it never says how far, so they put it in front of the transmission! But I thought it had to be the same approved GT shell.

It's a bit like the GT1 days. They're stretching the "production GT" rules the same way the Ford GT does and the C7R Corvette does.

A mid engine 911? Almost seems blasphemous.

We were all drooling over it. Such a neat car. SO MUCH SMALLER than the 991's in here.

As for the RSR, it is strange. The proportions are all out of wack! Be interesting to see how they do this year.

Thought this was interesting .... the 918 mirrors are painted carbon, if someone wants bare carbon you end up sending it out to strip the paint and clear it.

HAH! Exactly! Gawd forbid they race a Caymen in GT and win everything! How would they ever sell any 911s after that?!

If you don't see them in person regularly, a real (pre-'74) 911 is a really little car. They're great.

Will be an interesting year. Porsche has new 911 and BMW is on its second year of the M6 so they could of learned and fixed a lot over course of the off season.

That's something that's annoying about all the contrived parity in GT these days. Build a more slippery / faster / lighter / better engine to beat the other guys? Well, we'll put a tiny intake restrictor on there so you're exactly the same as everyone else. Let's add some lead weights to your efficient GT car! Let's change the aero so you don't stick as well and they can keep up in the corners! Let's water down your 427 Chevy LS so you can't outrun a 3-liter!

I know - it's entertainment, it's to sell soap and beer and red bull, you want tight racing right to the line after 24 hours.....I know....
