Where to eat in Indy? Heading to GFest!

Hello Indiannapolis R3vers! My wife & I are making the trek out to GutenFest this year, and will be passing through Indy (staying there overnight). I'll just be Hotwiring a hotel, but would like reccomendations for a good independently-owned restaurant (I always like to support local whenever possible). Any thoughts? Thanks guys!!

Well it depends on what kind of food you are looking for...but here are some of my favorites.

    Breakfast - Cafe Patachou

Lunch - Taste Cafe & Marketplace

    Dinner - Mamma Carollas

These are on the northern side of Indianapolis. Let me know if you are looking for something specific or what side of town you will be on when you figure that out.

      Lunch -
Tomale Place (inside 465 on west side, featured on Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives) - you won't regret that

      Dinner -
Rick's Cafe Boatyard (west side 465, nice outdoor atmosphere on the water, amazing seafood)
Sensu (downtown, super spendy, but good sushi & kobe beef)
Eagles Nest (downtown at rotating rooftop of Hyatt, food is so-so and spendy, but good view of the city)
Tegri Bistro (NW side, inside 465 loop, best sushi in town)
The Rusty Bucket (N side inside loop, good beers & food, good mellow sports pub atmosphere)

Or just head over to Broad Ripple and you can walk the streets. There are a bunch of bars & pubs to choose from. I like Chumley's and Broad Ripple Brew Pub. Ambrosia's has great Italian down there also.
