I have searched here and other forums and I have not been able to find a definitive answer on this. Were any tourings sold in the US with no sunroof or the single sunroof found in the sedan ?
To the best of my knowledge, all US cars had the double. However, I know Canadia got some non-sunroof models. I am unsure if ANY touring came with the single.
I have it on pretty good authority that the US did indeed get non-sunroof 525i's...but there are very few. No touring on earth came with the single moonroof.

What is your source to cite both of those statements.

First, I have SEEN US-spec slicktop 525iT's...
The second 'fact' may be wrong...I have just never seen a single on an E34. Moreover, I can't find a google image of one...if it's not on the interwebz, it doesn't exist right?
MY92 - US - standard / Canada - optional

530i
Standard in the US and Canada on all model years.
E34 Tourings only came with the double panel sunroof in all markets. Single panel(sedan style) was never offered.
value edition tourings had no sunroofs. grey markets often had no sunroofs. all luxury package us market tourings had sunroofs.
There is no such thing as a "value edition" E34 and the only package that was available on the E34 is the "inclement weather package" which included LSD and heated seats. It was only available for the MY1993
