trunk light takes a while to turn on

Hey guys recently when i've been opening my trunk the light takes a while to turn on. Not sure why it only happens sometimes. I was thinking there might be a short on the wire somewhere but still not 100 percent sure since it looks intact all the way to the hinges of the trunk lid. Any ideas what else it could be ?? Thanks

Im not sure where the light switch is, but it might be getting stuck and just taking a second to free itself

Most likely the switch mechanism for the light is rusted or corroded. A good cleaning of the electrical contacts will fix this.

Should I just brush the contacts or what else could I use to clean them up ?

Clean the contacts with a wire brush and use a little spray lube in the barrel of the plunger..

This is an annual exercise for me on the door operated dome light switches on the Fiat.
