So putting this up as a Trade offer to see what I get.
As you probably have surmised, it's an '84 Eta, basically 100% bone stock, 113k miles, auto sunroof, 5 spd, red leather interior.
I have maintenance records back to the original owner in 84.
Enthusiast owned since 2005, owned by single owner from 84 until 2005. I've had it for about 6 months. I love the car, I'm not in a hurry at all.
I paid $6k for it.
So, before I show pics, I'll describe what i've done to the car and what I'm looking to get. Essentially this car is a blank canvas for some of you guys, and you can turn it into something awesome. I, on the other hand, do not have the time or skills to convert or massively upgrade. I'd rather reap the bennies of someone's skill who's already done it, I'm willing to pay a little cash on my end.
First off, I bought it in October, and its never let me down, it's been my daily driver since the day I bought it. I've taken it on a few 3 and 5 hour trips and it's been good, besides burning (leaking) a small amount of oil.
The Good:
-New oil/filter (Old School Maint Schedule)
-Air filter
-Cooling hoses and fresh coolant
-Timing belt
-water pump
-t-stat
-radiator fan (bold items were done by a shop)
-plugs
-brake fluid (OE BMW)
-engine drive belts (except AC, which I'll be getting here soon, it's hot already in GA)
-UUC clutch stop
-ZHP shift knob
-Wiper Relay
-Turner motorport Jim Conforti- ECU (replaced DME at same time)
-Replaced windshield washer tank
-MTL in the 5-spd Trans
-Redline gear oil in the Diff
-No catalytic converter, straight pipe to Ansa sport muffler
-Have an IE SSK and bushings just haven't slapped it in yet.
-Also have full spare (weaves) and full set of bottle caps (inkl spare)
-Have original floormats in great condition, but I DD it with some rubber ones that protect the floor a little better. I get dirty at work.
-Interior is honestly 9/10, with the one point coming from the driver's side bolster, little cracks. Everything else is pristine.
-Exterior is 7.5/10, needs a fresh coat on the drivers side door, where the paint has faded a little bit.
The Bad:
-needs new wiper motor (i think, since I replaced the relay and they're still a little intermittent- work fine on full auto, ie when you need them most)
-slight oil leak from somewhere on the underside of the engine, the drops (and it IS drops, not a stream) catch the exhaust and burn while I'm driving and causes it to stink a little bit. I don't worry about it much, just add oil when the light comes on. I haven't been able to figure out where the leak is coming from exactly.
-I sheared off the bleed screw while i was replacing the brake fluid... but it's not leaking, since it was while tightening the screw.
So that's it for the car, now, what I'd like is a straight trade, but i'm not married to that concept. i'd be willing to post up a few shekels for the right car.
-Mileage doesn't bother me, if it's been maintained well, and you have proof.
-Model doesn't bother me.
-Engine doesn't bother me, though i'd prefer to avoid boosted engines (no skills, remember?)
-I want something '87 or newer (not a fan of the DB's)
-I want all the "right" mods- ie suspension, steering rack upgrades, performance ECU, LSD, etc.
-Mechanically I need it to be damn near perfect, because I don't have the time to do "repairs." Maintenance I can handle, if it's routine, but I can't sacrifice time for repairs.
-I'm willing to accept minor interior and exterior cosmetic blemishes (prefer no rust) for a tranny, powerplant and suspension that are rock solid.
Ok, here's some pics: They're cellphone pics, but I don't give a fuck.
I'm a fan of the Eta, so let the hate fly.

Interior

You can see the slight damage on the driver's bolster in the next one. that's the only issue to report on the interior.

Again, just a feeler for a Trade... I would not be heartbroken if I kept this car. I guess if you wanted to buy it outright you could... but PM me with interest.
I have no real experience with shipping costs, but I'll try to accommodate. That said, prefer to keep it within reasonable day-trip driving distance, folks.
I'm near Columbus, GA.
Don't be shy. If you have any constructive comments or general questions, shoot me a PM.
Happy Driving,
Tim
