    Intercooler WITH A/C

I've been at it for a few hours now, but I've only found a handful of people who managed to pull off an intercooler set up and use the AC. And not a single one showed me the full set up. I'd see an "up top" picture, and see the edge of the compressor. Then the rest of the pictures would be the infamous "X".

So, I'm asking for anyone who managed it. Any air to water guys here? I'm heavily debating going turbo...but I need my AC in FL with a black on black.

You need to replace the a/c fan with a thin spal fan and use a small intercooler.

Here's the setup on my 24V turbo.

    A/C fan

You didn't mention if it's for an M20 or 24V but I had to cut the front of water pump off to make the fan fit.

Everything is a tight fit but it can be done, hope this helps.

Otis, how does that setup work in traffic?

Cause my 12" FFD fan and 16" Spal don't seem to cope well with traffic (well with a/c on).

So my 12" FFD fan is rated at 1500 CFM and the 16" is rated at 2360 CFM...something tells me that I shouldn't have a problem cooling the car.

How do I check if my 12" FFD is running at maximum amperage?

          For reference:

I've got an M20. So I don't htink I'd need to alter the water pump. What size IC is that you're running?

No problems in traffic at all, plus I have the a/c on all time. You have way more fan than I do for sure.

Have you checked that the 16" is actually pulling? The link you posted is for a pusher fan.

Make sure it's not wired backwards if it is indeed a puller...

I think your first person to understand my screen name!

Standard swap stuff, E36 engine brackets with the green engine mounts from an E28.

Also threw a couple welds on the water pump after cutting the front off.

I am in the process of installing AC on my car. Is your AC all stock e30 parts with the exception of the compressor? What did you do for your AC lines? Its getting hot and humid quick in VA!

All stock parts, E36 compressor. A local automotive a/c shop redid the lines, they brazed the E36 ends onto the E30 lines. If you go that route have them replace the hoses also.
It cost me $100, I would try to find a hydraulic line shop they normally do these king of things.

You have the 16" setup as a puller?? Shouldn't it be a pusher since it basically goes in the direction we normally travel?

I've been reading everywhere that the AUX fan was a pusher and that any replacement should be a pusher. Shit if I just switching it to a puller will slow my heating problems that'll make me a happy man.

This is exactly what I did, I found a hydraulic shop in Queens that made me a custom line for $60.

Do you know the distance from your radiator to the water pump pulley?
