    eBay Harness Bar

I had a Sparco harness bar mounted in my '87 325e 4 door till the middle of last season. Nice bar, but it keeps the seat too far forward for a 6'4" tall guy. There was no way to drive with the seat up against the dash, so I sold it to another forum member. I had a half-ass shoulder belt setup, not really what I would call safe or optimal, so I took a chance on a eBay Universal Harness Bar. Major surprise! Its a better unit than the Sparco bar. The b-pillar mount is angled back to accommodate the seats all the way back, and tilted. Stiffens the structure also.

The recline mechanism on these Cipher seats was in the way of the upright support, so I swapped the seats so the mechanism is on the inside, next to console.

At $159 with free shipping, its a third of the cost of the Sparco, and better designed for the 4-door.

I've actually ran that harness bar. The only problem I have with those harness bars r that they're not e30 specific. If u have ever seen them mounted in any jdm car the position is way different. The main cross bar sits at a lower angle instead of behind your head because the seatbelt anchor points are typically lower. Anyways I loved it & actually had a decent improvement on body roll besides just being a harness bar. I would run it as a b pillar bar if not for a harness bar.

That is halfway decent harness bar. But I'd rather see the support bar more vertical.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

im 6'8", i think i might give this a try. i have the cipher auto SRD copies with their rails. i love them, my rails are a bit different in that they arent actual sliders, they bolt straight to the floor, making the seating position incredibly low. also a good anti theft divice, because no one can reach my pedals but me now.

im super interested. Do you have to remove the B pillar trim?
