E46 mats in E30 (pics here)

So I didn't want to spend $100+ on E30 mats so I grabbed some E46 mats on Ebay. Came out nice. The rears actually fit fine on my 318is. Not sure what people are talking about. The only part that isn't perfect fit is on drivers near the dead pedal.

I think they look great. How much you pay for these? I think I will look into a set. Do you have pics of the rear?

I'd rather spend the extra dough on some OEM mats that are high quality and fit perfectly.

I feel ya on that. Besides perfect fit I don't know how much better quality will be noticed with OEM mats. This isn't my daily so I just wanted nice looking ones.

I have weathertech digital floor liner mats in my daily Acura TL. They were costly and they are not oem but molded for the car. Best mats in the market.

Anybody know if OEM E46 mats will fit more "perfectly" around the dead pedal than the ones OP has? Something like this:

Sorry to hate but i just think oem mats are worth the extra couple of bucks because they fit and match the interior. Just bought new oem ones myself:

My e46 mats fit much better than what the OP posted. Especially around the dead pedal area.

i definitely prefer OEM 99% of the time. however mats will get dirty regardless and I wasn't trying to pay $150 for oem mats. fitment i understand but quality? seriously how does one judge quality on fabric floormats? as long as it doesn't rip or tear i'm fine. the oem mats are going to wear near the gas pedal just the same if you daily drive it.

i daily mine and my last oem mats, which i had for about 15 years, didn't wear at all. just got incredibly dirty/stained so i tried dying them with vinyl/carpet dye with bad results. maybe wear different shoes or try not to dig your heel in? i wear a variety of shoes from dress shoes, trainers, sneakers, house shoes and barefoot. really dont understand what some of you people do to wear holes in your mats...

i'll give you kudos for actually having mats though. hate it when i see a clean interior with the carpet unprotected. plus theyre at least bmw mats haha. but really, save up for some oem tan ones or black if thats your style and take it easy on em. its like putting an e46 bumper on your e30...just doesnt fit.

2nd..I've had both OEM e30 and OEM e46 mats (not ebay ones) in my past and present e30s and prefer the e46 fitment.

I currently have the e46 rear mats in my e30 since it has way more coverage particularly in the rear.

i hope you're kidding. compared to the OPs fitment of floormats (no offense!) that would be a reasonable comparison.

                              Nope
I'm referring to the period correct aspect of both; e46 mats nor the zhp knob fit the glass slipper, but they both seem to get along just fine.
