Euro headers, left hand vs right hand drive - any different?

Searched, and all i saw were fitment questions. Looks like they fit, I'm assuming without any major issues (erik want to chime in? or anybody with euro s50's for that matter).

Any difference between left hand and right hand drive euro headers?

Also, any difference between b30 and b32 euro headers?

pretty set on getting a set for my swap, need to know where i'm allowed to shop from. :)

    thanks.

LHD vs RHD looks to be same on realoem, but i dont think that site is 100% reliable so...

Different the steering column goes thru the middle and from what the s15 guys say this causes a lose of hp in their's might not be the same for the 6's and might help torque. Why would you want em or did you source a eu engine from UK?

My buddy is convinced ebay headers and too thin and will be raspy, only set I've ever heard were too. Really really don't want raspy and looks like I can source uk m3 headers for decent price. Guess I should find german m3 headers?

Agreed they are raspy but if they are wrapped this muffles them or you could jet coat them.

I kept my Remus it quiets the noise down but the thing is big and heavy.

I thought about that too, i was looking at the header thread that mentioned header wrap. doesn't seem too expensive, but I don't know first hand how much that muffles rasp. Still probably not as good as euro headers.

Anyone on here swap in a euro motor from uk? why are english people so god damn backwards!! :hitler:

My motor is from the UK. I can't tell you the physical differences between the RHD headers and the LHD headers since I don't have both.
I have heard that they are shaped differently to clear the column, but I've never heard of anyone claim a HP difference between the two. I can tell you that the RHD headers will fit.

Thanks Erik. That's extremely helpful. Any major massaging or cutting/banging you had to do to make them work?

I have a set of RHD header son my car since my motor was from ZA. I don't believe they are different. Still have to dent the firewall and notch the subframe.

As gobuffs said, you just need to dent the firewall and notch the subframe. It's not too hard. The only other issue is you may have some swaybar clearance issues depending on your exact setup (motor mount spacers, swaybar size...). I'm going to be making a spacer to lower my swaybar a little bit to clear the header.

Have any pictures of notched subframe? We talking a big chunk or a litle tiny dent? Really don't like the thought of butchering the car

The notch is about 1 to 2 inches long. I don't think I have a pic of mine.

Am I correct in assuming it doesn't compromise the structural integrity of the subframe or you wouldn't have done it?

no it doesn't compromise the integrity of the subframe. Besides, I flipped it over and welded it back in, so there is nothing missing...just some welding material was added.

It has to be done to fit the Euro headers (maybe even has to be done for the US headers- dunno, I haven't looked at an S52 swap).

interesting. If there is anyway you can snap some pics of what you did that will be super helpful in the very near future for me, and i'm sure others.
