    no heat above 2200rpm ??????

i picked up a new car a couple of days ago. this one has me stumped. i get lukewarm air if its idling up to about 2000rpm. once the engine goes over 2200rpm, it gets stone cold. it doesnt matter if i am rolling or sitting still. same symptoms. i replaced the water pump and thermostat.....didnt help. any thoughts?

you're the man stu...... swapped the hoses, problem solved. for the record: spider hose from oil filter housing goes to the upper heater core pipe, coolant hose off back of head goes to the lower heater core pipe.

    THANKS.
    jason

    thanks, jason

I've seen a similar problem once, hot air at idle but cold once off-idle. The coolant hoses running to the heater core were backwards, swapping them solved the problem.

thanks.....i will give it a try and post the results.

just a couple of days ago i replaced the wpump, thermostat and check all plumbing lines. i even removed the hoses to the heater core to check for any resistance....they freely blew air and water. if only i had tried swapping the lines....

        thanks again. jason
