    Oil Service Light Reset...

How do I reset the "Oil Service" light?

    #2
Pin 7 on the diag port under the hood to ground for about 5 seconds.

      19 is the ground.

if you leave it on longer, it'll reset the inspection too

        For late model:

        View from drivers's side:

Been a while since I looked up the procedure so do some searches to verify..
        1. Insert jumper in '7' and '19' slots (with engine off)
        2. Turn key to 'on'. (not all the way to 'start')

iirc, a light will stop flashing (after ~3 seconds) to indicate oil service has been reset.

To reset service indicator lights, leave key in 'on' position for ~12 seconds.

I have tried to reset mine and it refuses to reset. The darn red light has already worn down my battery once; i had to re-charge it. Any thoughts? The SI board batteries were changed before I bought the car in 2006. I did a budget stroker swap earlier this year, everything else is stock.

Have you disconnected your battery lately? You might wanna cut power to the whole car for about 10 minutes, then try it again.
