    Ain't that a bitch?

I just got my T-Mobile Shadow like 3 weeks ago, and on Saturday, while I was in Springfield at the meet, there was a little pebble in the pocket of my shorts, and my phone was rubbing on it in the top left corner of the screen all day. So now up in the corner, there's a little spot that's all like basically sanded, and hazy. I tried using some toothpaste as a light abrasive to maybe try and polish it out, but it didn't hardly do anything. Is there anything I can do to try and polish this out? I just got this phone, paid $150 for it, and my cell insurance plan's deductible is $110 for this phone, so it would be like buying it again if I wanted to replace it.

I don't know if the screen is glass or plastic. I'm guessing probably glass.

Yeah, break out the DA, touch it to the screen, and my phone becomes a guided missle through my neighborhood. :D

keep a little while longer then call their tech support saying your phone is no longer working (something along the lines of freezing up constantly), they'll run you through some things, you'll act like you are doing them, say it's still freezing and they'll send you a new one under the Mfg's warranty... Minus the battery and back cover I believe.

I just checked my new samsung flipshot and it is all plastic, but yours might be different. But I would assume it is plastic to have gotten damage like that. Glass is usually very durable to being scratched that bad in most cases.

You could try also use a good cleaner/polish, that you would use on your car, that doesn't have any abrasive in it. Just use some kind of micro fiber towel or foam pad to try to rub it out. Last thing you want is to damage it further with more scratches from a terry cloth towel, or something similar.

Bah, same thing happened to me a couple years ago with an iPod screen. Plastic polish helped quite a lot. I used the BMW cabriolet rear window polish, same stuff I use for almost all of my plastic polishing needs! It's magical.

My brother in law has some really good plastic polish, I'll give that a try.

Once you fix it up look up invisibleshield.com. That stuff is the same material thats supposedly used to protect helicopter blades in Iraq from sand. Scratch proof...I bought the full body for my LG Voyager and I can scratch it with my keys and I even "knifed tested" it by taking a pocket knife across it. Nothing.

If you happen to scratch it while showing off its durability to your buddies, it has a lifetime warranty so they ship you a new one right away. You send them your old shield and your warranty continues for life. This is from someone very anal about scratches and finger prints...its well worth it.

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

This is why glass screens should be on all phones. I can have my keys in my pocket with my phone all day long and it won't get scratched at all.

Not entirely true, I've got a Razr that hangs out in my pocket with keys/change/whatever and it's definitely got some small scratches and nicks starting to show on the outside screen (glass).

Good luck fixing it. I just wouldn't care.

My gf has the same deal, and it already has saved her voyager... her purse is like a box of razors that just want to slice and kill her phone.

stop picking up every little thing you find on the ground.

I bookmarked this page a long time ago, but never tried it. Some guy did a write up on cleaning the scratches off his nano. Maybe it would work: http://todd.dailey.info/archives/200...can-of-brasso/
